A Moisture Balance uses principle of gravimetric moisture measurement also referred as Thermogravimetric or Loss on Drying (LOD). A Moisture Balance implements one of the most precise methods available for moisture determination. Since gravimetric moisture measurement doesn't depend on material, the moisture balance yields much mobility. In fact, gravimetric moisture measurement depends on the sample weight. Initially with the help of precision scale the sample is weighed, later dried and constantly weighed till the sample shows no oscillation in the weight. After the completion of the drying process, the sample's weight is compared to the weight before drying. Weight of the sample during the drying process are counted and final ratio for the sample material is obtained.
The main objective is to heat the sample to that extent by which the material releases moisture without burning. Therefore, the temperature has to be adjusted to make space for the heat tolerance of the sample material. The substantial drying time depends on the moisture content and size of the respective sample.
